Some days I have the best job ever and on other days I spend the day tasting Single Malts and world class cocktails for Diageo Reserves’s World Class India – Raising the Bar Master class Competitions (yup, pretty much still the best job ever!) On Monday, Tim Etherington-Judge invited me to judge alongside Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Shatbi Basu again, this time for a series of “bottle serves” for Talisker, Singleton and Ron Zacapa (and it was exactly as fancy as it sounds!) I was super impressed with the innovations, creativity and skills all the contestants came up with (and being a former D&D buff (I know, I’m sorry!) loved Tim’s own fabulous tale spun around two dragons for the Singleton!) Seriously these guys could do everything from carving ice-spheres to customizing sweet treats to compliment the flavors of the drink. Bartending in India sure has come a long way. Check out the video for a peak at the session and loads more pix here.
P.S. Lots of love (and thank you for my hangover) to all the boys over at Aer for those absolutely yummy shots and congrats again Deepak! xoxo
