The other day, I accompanied a friend to the ‘aam janta’ premiere of Thank You. A red carpet was rolled out alright but there was also an elephant in the compound. One couldn’t have missed the floral decoration. As we made our way to the balcony, we noticed the food buffet which was quite a spread. And when we entered the screen, we were amidst familiar and unfamiliar faces. As my friend likes to say, “When the lights go out, we’re all the same.” It was great to watch the movie with the stars, film critics and ‘mango people’ at the same time. I think it was especially sporting of Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty, Irrfan Khan and director Anees Bazmee to show up as baaraatis. Thank you to the film’s cast and crew and team Spice for making us relive fond memories. It’s been a while since we felt so welcome and watched a movie at Chandan!
