Sometimes I really don’t understand what the fashion forecasters are doing here in India. Actually, I’m not sure if most fashion retailers even hire forecaster, but they really should. It’s about time our retailers show us just how serious they are about giving us fashionable, trendy clothing. Lee and Van Heusen who have been in India for at least 10 years now (I’m guessing), seem to be heading in two different directions. With big brands like Zara, Puma, Mango and FCUK taking over the market, why can’t these brands, who were once so popular, give them a run for their money? Van Heusen is a tad bit better than Lee, who have be giving us the same clothing for years now. I’m no retail management graduate, but all brands are battling it out to grab their consumers. Puma did the ‘Pimp my Sole’ promotion, maybe it would help if Lee did a ‘Jazz up my Heans’ promotion, just a thought. I’m a big believer in the underdogs, and hope these two brands come back with a splash!
