Ritu Kumar says, “Fashion in India more so than anywhere else in the world depends largely on an indigenous history. It has been a rewarding experience to yet again go to craft areas rich in textile tradition and revive them to suit today’s fashion.”
Ritu Kumar’s Falaknuma Collection showcase at the Taj Lands End last night was something else! The music, the opulence the models everything just magical (plus pretty much every girls dream wedding trousseau *hint hint*) The exceptional collection highlighted the heritage of craftsmanship that the city of royal Hyderabad is renowned for (and OMG I am now dying to go checkout their Taj property which is the restored Falaknuma palace, former residence of Nizam Mehboob Ali Khan, it looks divine!)
The Falaknuma Show was inspired by the interiors of the famed palace of Hyderabad and integrated the tradition of fine sensitivity of textile craft and design. Plus the weather was just right for berry cocktails in the lawn!
