It’s Holiday season, which for most of us means incredible parties, delicious food and great drinks. However, come January we’re all making those new years resolutions to loose weight! Is the dreaded holiday weight stopping you from devouring another piece of Christmas cake? We asked some of our favorite party hopping celebrities for their tips on how to indulge on holiday food without packing on the calories. While most agreed there is no such thing as food without the calories, here is what they had to say. If nothing works, indulge now and then opt for figure flattering kaftans and dresses till you shed the pounds later!
Gul Panag – Model / Actress
“That’s an oxymoron. You cannot indulge and not pack calories. Best bet is to eat to your hearts content and exercise with a vengeance!”
Anaita Shroff Adajania – Fashion Director for Vogue
“I just indulge shamelessly! But a regular breakfast (one egg,one toast, one piece of cheese) and dinner by 8, before a big night out would be my tip.”
Dino Morea – Model/Actor
“When on holiday the idea is to eat and not think. Enjoy. But if u need to take care of weight issues too then eat everything but in really small quantities. Never stuff yourself. Alcohol and sugar will need to be controlled. So do sporty stuff like swim, run around, cycle, trek, so you can burn some off too?”
Nauheed Cyrusi – Model/Actress
“Ummm I’d say binge on the breads and rice in the first half and leave the lean meats for the nights!! And one big fat glass of wine can’t hurt anyone cause you’ll end up dancing the wine away!”
Surelee Joseph – Model
“I think you should indulge and try all the local cuisine and not worry bout calories. But if you are calorie conscious the best way to lose the pounds you think you may have put on is maybe go swimming in your hotel pool. And if your on holiday at a beach destination a run on the beach is the best exercise. My favourite is going out to a party with a couple of friends and dance those calories away!”
Nachiket Barve – Fashion Designer
“Ah! Temptation in all forms. Moderation is the key. Eat to satiate your body not your mind. Eat a snack before heading to a party so you are not a ravenous monster. Drink lots of water. Alcohol makes you hungrier and lose track of food. Eat at a decent hour and stop getting paranoid about calories! What else are new year resolutions for?”
Dipannita Sharma – Model
“Holiday food without packing in calories is a bit tough, if u ask me. The whole point of being on holiday is to be able to eat whatever one wants to without thinking. My suggestion would be to hit the gym hectically before and after to do away with the guilt because packing in calories when I’m on holiday is something I can’t avoid.”
