It wasn’t just about the birds and the bees for Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Their collection, which was showcased in London Fashion Week, was inspired by animals who face the threat of extinction – particularly bees and tigers.
Graphic, futuristic, dynamic and pristine are just some of the words one can use to describe their collection. The garments were fierce and strong giving focus to either an accentuated hip or shoulder. Plunging v necks, mini and maxi dresses were all strung together with their graphics prints. Their trademark prints (done in-house) focused on a juxtaposition of patterns and real objects – which included bees, tigers, real leather, rivets and chains.
My 2 picks (seen above) which fit in well for the up coming Christmas/New Tears season are – the Structured red mini dress with interesting paneling and a cute raglan sleeve, as well as the elegant bustier sequined dress in pewter and black.
Spotted on the front row were Sushmita Sen, Michelle Williams, Jimmy Choo, Abbey Clancy, Kimberly Walsh, Zara Martin, Tulli & Michelle and Yohan Poonawalla.
