Making conversation can be quite a challenge, especially when it comes to addressing an easily distracted audience amidst a sea of glitz and glam at your average “Page 3” party. So how do you grasp their attention and keep them engaged? I asked the glitterati to share the most effective, common or bizarre conversation starters currently in vogue, feel free to rinse and repeat 🙂 xoxo
Sophie Choudry: (Most common and effective conversation starter) “You look great! Have you lost more weight?!! You gotta tell me how!”
Nisha JhamVwal: (Most common and infuriating) “You’ve lost weight.” by the number of times I’ve got that I would’ve disappeared/apparated years ago! (Most bizzare conversation starter) “You’re looking so beautiful, have you done something to your self!?” I mean like how much more bizarre can it get?
Teejay Sidhu: (Most effective conversation starter) “Hey, did u see Sonam & Deepika on Koffee with Karan this week?”
Sapna Bhavnani: “Aren’t Page 3 parties for losers?” (The best conversation I’ve had with a stranger.)
Sameer Sheth: (The most bizarre conversation at a Page 3 party between 2 socialites discussing their outfit for Prince Shivaraj Singh’s wedding in Jodhpur, for which both are not invited, would go something like this…) First socialite: “Oh I hate these Italian men. Giorgio (as in Armani) can’t give me a ghaghra in the shade of purple I want so getting Ralph (as in Lauren) to do it, he is sending it with Madonna who is coming down for the wedding” (The other not to be outdone would say “Oh I am flying down 2 Paris where Gucci is having a special showing for me where I will select my ghaghra and at night Louis Vuitton’s CEO is hosting a sit-down dinner in my honor.” Name-dropping is the mantra of their life.
Nishka Lulla: (Most common conversation starter) “Oh My God you’ve lost sooo much weight! Or “Is that a real Louis Vuitton?!”
