You’ve got to love Narendra Kumar Ahmed (aka Nari as he’s affectionately known) for his passion for fashion and his flair for the elegantly eccentric. I think he really blew this one out of the park with his first-of-its-kind his train motif off-site at Tote on Thursday to kick of Lakme Fashion Week. (I hear the party that followed was pretty epic too. Yes, I went home early for a change because my potential future daddy-in-law is in town and just too adorable to make a bad impression on!)
Spotted: Sonakshi Sinha clearly having a blast posing with the train prop post show.
Psst! Props to the model who kept her cool during her tricky sticky-tape situation on the runway!
Gotta love the ease with which Nari carries off that wrap-around belt, those shoes, the cap, the smirk and the fact that he was pouring out cocktails in chai cups to his frontbenchers at the show! If you love pictures then you simply must Like my Facebook Page because THIS is where you will find dozens more from the show, do it, do it do it! xoxo
Sounds of Mumbai
Here’s the lo’ down on his collection… “In celebration of the 10 Year Anniversary of Narendra Kumar Label, the designer pays a special tribute to the women of Mumbai, whose essence and spirit of resilience, confidence and resolute drive and ambition is encapsulated within the collection. Loungewear, a byword for relaxed glamour – comprises of day and evening looks in an elegant neutral colour palette of beige, cream and okra, with subtle accents of lavender, coral and marigold. Light embroidery work features abstract sound wave pattern, unique to the sound of the city. Clean lines and utility prevail in the work-wear inspired looks, while hand detail finishing preserves the luxe element. Sport inspired club and cocktail looks, integrate bold and slightly chaotic sound-wave prints; echoing the energetic ambiance of the city markets. Form fitting gowns envelop the body in delicate pastels, gleaming gold and biscuit. Rich embroidery and lustrous texturing perfectly balanced by the billowy sheaths of organza and georgette.”
P.S. I heart that the show was called “Sounds of Mumbai” it reminds me of happy times with my radio family on GO 92.5 FM. Gosh I miss The Sound of Mumbai. Those were the best days of my life 🙂
(Ok ok, these days are pretty damn awesome too, I mean how often do get to say “well actually yes, this chair does have my name on it, Lol!)
