This is a super week for gigs; I’ve no idea when I’m going to get any rest! Bangalore folk-rock band Swarathma play Hard Rock Cafe. They’re collaborating with Old Man River, a one-man act visiting from Australia and putting a new spin on popular tracks like Ee Bhoomi and Bolo Hai Kya. With colourful costumes, a ghodi and plenty of stories, Swarathma is always entertaining.

Shaa’ir + Func launch their third album ‘Mantis’ at Blue Frog on Thursday. Download their new album from their site shaairandfunc.com and come prepped to party. An album launch by one of the city’s favourite bands guarantees that everyone is going to show up and it’s going to be an insane night. I’ve also heard that there are going to be a few special guests and collaborations; look out for those!

At the recent Rolling Stone Metal Awards the band was awarded ‘Best Album’, ‘Best Band’ and ‘Best Song’. Scribe releases their first video for ‘Dum Hai Toh Aage Aah!’, my favourite track on the album at their gig at Blue Frog this weekend. Rosemary opens for Scribe.
