Here’s the one place in Bombay where I feel the most at home. The Ghetto, an awesome little bar in Mahalaxmi that’s been around forever (and everybody knows your name) I swear when I moved here 10 years ago I made most of my friends at the pool table (including DJ Shaan who kicked my ass) Babu, a pretty permanent fixture at the bar and even Anu Agarwal (Bollywood belle of Ashiqui fame who had the most tragic accident ruining her face and her career) and Jesse Singh I bet your spirit hangs out there on most evenings, rest in peace man. Seriously the Ghetto walls, the stories they’d tell, anyone who’s ever been there knows what I’m talking about, right?
P.S. Melli, I’ll never forget the time I said, “Hey, lets go to the Ghetto” and you looked at me half amused half concerned and said, “should I bring my gun?” Lol.
I was originally looking for a video for the song “Inna Di Ghetto” but I can’t seem to find the one I want, so instead I’m going with MC Solaar. MC Solaar is the stage name of Claude M’Barali, a francophone hip hop and rap artist. I heard lots of him during the four years I lived in Ivory Coast, West Africa and he is awesome, just like The Ghetto.
Lets have some fun, post a comment with whatever you’ve ever written on The Ghetto walls over the years please 🙂
