Chin up boys & girls I smell a fou-fou fix! Tomorrow afternoon Tarini Jindal’s, three-story luxury, fashion clothing and jewelry store called Muse at Kala Ghoda is hosting a Trunk Show to highlight the new collections from Queenie Dhody and Raakesh Agarvwal (I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone spell Agarvwal like, have you?!) The PR claims that the “well-know and certainly well-loved, Muse is filled with the most luxurious products that put a special spotlight on ‘design’, Muse’s product range includes high fashion international clothing and jewelry for the intelligent, handsome home ware, personalized gifting options, whimsical, quirky gadgets, one-off furniture options and bespoke linen, textiles and carpets. Since it 1st opened, Muse has taken the lead in spreading the luxe lifestyle to daily life making it the ‘must go-to store’ to check what might be new from India and abroad every fortnight!” Wow, wanna turn down that ego a notch? Lol, just kidding 🙂 by the way have I ever told you how much I hate the word “bespoke”?
But I admit I am curious to see “Jewels by Queenie” that she first showed at the super fancy HDIL 2009 Couture Week (and mostly just what she plans to wear and how tight it will be; you must admit it’s probably best she didn’t get into fashion design right?!) The show will include Raakesh Agarvwal’s Demi-Couture Cocktail Dress Collection that he showed at the recently concluded 2009 Lakme Fashion Week.
Apparently Tarini is thrilled about the Trunk-Show and holding a special preview over champagne and brunch. Did someone say champagne and brunch?! I’m so there 🙂
Didjya Know?
A “trunk show” is a special sale in which vendors present merchandise directly to store personnel or select customers at a retail location or another unique venue. In many cases it allows store personnel to preview and/or purchase merchandise before it is made available to the public. It is particularly desirable to have the actual designer present at the event.
“Bespoke” is a term employed in a variety of applications to mean an item custom-made to the buyer’s specification. (It’s also a great way to come across as a bit of a jack-ass in a roomful of non-affected people.)
