I am woefully behind on my blogging (no thanks to my HP adapter/charger debacle *glare at computer here*) but I was meaning to tell you about Tod’s trendy event downtown last week at the Galleria Trident, Mumbai featuring their autumn/winter’ 09 collection of shoes & bags and the launch of “Italian Touch” an exclusive book edited by journalist Donata Sartorio. (Even more so now that the PR sent me a follow up mail saying “Since you’re blog is all about hip & new & trendy lifestyle, this party information would be apt to have flashed onto your website.” My my, flattery will get you everywhere you know 🙂
But seriously, the stuff looks swanky (and expensive!) Plus there was a fair amount of celebrity eye candy to be spotted; Carol Gracias and Pia Trivedi, who’ve been MIA lately no? (Khatron Ke Khiladi anyone?) Bhawna Sharma, the effervescent Anushka Manchanda (who’s just a blast to be around), Ramona Narang, Arjun Bhasin, Archana Pillai, Vikram Raizada, Devika & Suresh Bhojwani, and the extremely lovely Divya Thakur.
What’s hot right now?
“The Boston” shoe and the “D Bag”, never mind the American’s giggling over the name “D bag” I think in Italy they have another word for that altogether 🙂
What’s the book about then?
“Italian Touch” is a collection of pictures of people and moments in time, that represent perfectly the best of “Made in Italy.” Tod’s is renowned for its iconic pieces, which are timeless, understated and worn by people from different generations, by actors, first ladies, models or royalties, as well as loyal customers. The photographs of “Italian Touch” capture people who seem to naturally evoke the Tod’s style, its essential and discreet designs, who define a unique elegance and aristocracy that go beyond fashion; an elegance embodied by the brand’s iconic Boston shoe and D Bag, the two highlights of Tod’s new AW 2009/10 collection.
