Priyanka Chopra recently visited the Salvatore Ferragamo Shoe Museum in Florence and had her footprint immortalized via a cast for a wooden shoe that will be displayed at the Museum. Apparently this makes her the second Indian to win the honor after the Maharani of Cooch Behar, Indira Devi (although that was over 50-years ago) She’s still the first Indian film star to have a wooden shoe cast & customized stilettos created for her by expert shoemakers at the Ferragamo Museum in Florence. The museum that houses the footmarks of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and Drew Barrymore. (Eat your heart out Kareena?)

Didjya know?

In 1907 Bonito, Italy  a nine year old Salvatore Ferragamo made his first pair of shoes for his sisters to wear to their Christian confirmation ceremony.

He even designed the infamous glittery red ruby slippers that clicked Dorothy home in the Wizard of Oz.

Since his death in 1960, the Ferragamo brand has branched out to accessories like handbags, apparel, ready-to-wear clothing as well as the international expansion of the Ferragamo brand.

P.S. Look what I stumbled upon. A website called www.runningwithheels.com the only online magazine dedicated to women who love shoes! Gotta love that.
