This afternoon, designer to the stars, Manish Malhotra displayed his luxury summer line at Aza, Mumbai. Vibrant colors and stunning embroidery appear to be the buzz words for this collection.

Manish infuses warm colours with light fabrics and a variety of embroidery styles like colorful resham embroidery with black borders for a touch of glam. Colour fusions and texture amalgamations, combined with embroidery inspired by Russian give the Indian ensembles a contemporary feel. Manish is renowned for his color combinations and for the first time, he uses earthy shades to blend with bright colours, setting off a new trend for 2009.

Manish’s repertoire of formal wear includes net dupattas and woven fabrics -combination’s of chiffon and georgette, cotton and jute silk and other textured fabrics. The color palette ranges from earthy shades like beige, ivory and oyster to pastels, gold and even pure black.

In Manish’s word’s  “This collection is about luxury and timelessness. It is about creating something which is sure to stand out. The wide ranging color palette ensures a perfect find for all kinds of tastes. This collection will be exclusively available at Aza. Not even my own store will be carrying it.”
