02 February 2008: B-town’s favorite duo Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan are set to share screen time together again after eight whole years. Taking a break from her full-time mom duties Kajol has agreed to shoot for “My Name Is Khan.”
Fittingly “My Name is Khan” tells the (apparently true story) of a young Muslim, who gets caught in the web of intelligence agencies only because he bears the surname ‘Khan.’ The tragic events of 9/11 and 26/11 have clearly sown the seeds of suspicious towards the Islamic world, which is now seen as torchbearer of all terrorist organizations. Karan Johar’s story brings to light this attitude. The movie is also a clear departure from Karan Johar’s romantic family dramas. He has even applied for permission to shoot in the White House.
If previous chemistry is anything to go by from hits like DDLJ, Karan-Arjun, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain you can bet the theaters (come next Diwali) will be packed for this one.
In fact there’s a blog dedicated to updates on this movie, knock yourself out.
