It’s such great news for the cinema fans to have a number of big-scale movies line-up. While OTT is growing like never before with some amazing content, the charm of big-scale movies on the 70mm is unparalleled. It’s also great for the business of theatres that a number of big movies are line-up in the coming months which are worth witnessing only in cinema halls. Such magnum opuses are awaited and loved for their grandeur, visual appeal and larger-than-life story-telling.
Let’s take a look at five such mega scale movies which really have high expectations from the audience.
RRR
Another biggie from Baahubali director SS Rajamouli, the visual appeal of RRR in the trailer itself is so good that one can only imagine how the film would be on the big-screen, especially in the 3D and Imax format. Rajamouli is known for his quality of cinema and visually stunning pieces. The teaming up of Jr NTR with Ram Charan is another highlight of it. It’s not set to release on March 25.
Prithviraj
Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj has already enthralled the viewers and I’m sure people are really looking forward to the film. It’s directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi who is still remembered for his television epic, Chanakya. Also, you know it’s going to be really big when you see Kumar teaming up with Yash Raj Films. The film is going to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telegu on June 10.
Brahmastra
Brahmastra is the first-of-its kind planned trilogy and considering the amount of time taken in its making – one just expects it to be spectacular and not something India has ever seen. It also boasts of an ensemble cast comprising of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni. I’ve loved Wake Up sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani of Ayan Mukherji and the fact that he’s doing something so drastically different and big this time around, makes me look forward to the film. Brahmastra is most definitely one of the most anticipated films. It shall hit the marquee on September 9.
Shamshera
Another Ranbir Kapoor biggie, Shamshera is a period drama and and I’m definitely looking forward to this one. It’s set to release on July 22 and would be a treat for all the Kapoor fans to see him on-screen after so long. It also stars Vaani Kapoor who’s still getting appreciation for her act in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. It also stars Sanjay Dutt and this one will also release in Hindi, Tamil and Telegu.
Adipurush
The release date of the film has been announced today and the excitement is just on the rise for this one. Prabhas’ mega movie Baahubali isn’t yet out of people’s minds, so there’s huge expectation from this one which is an adaptation of Ramayana of sort, with him taking on Ram’s role. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Raavan while Kriti Sanon will be Sita. Sunny Singh will get into the shoes of Lakshman. It shall hit the screens on January 12, 2023, but with all the anticipation in place, that seems far, doesn’t it?
These films definitely have a lot of curiousity surrounding them and I totally cannot wait for them to unveil their magic on the big-screen and give us a memorable theatrical experience.
