Starring in a Dharma productions’ film directed by Karan Johar is a dream debut for any newcomer in Bollywood. The next generation of film stars in Hindi cinema currently include Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ishaan Khatter and a few more.
Apart from them, there are some waiting in line to make their silver screen debut, Shanaya Kapoor, for instance. Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor‘s daughter is quite popular on social media, especially with her young fans.
She has worked as an assistant director for Janhvi Kapoor‘s Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, a film backed by KJo. Recently, Shanaya also made her debut at the ball event, Le Bal where she looked no less than a princess. Is Bollywood the next obvious step for the young gal?
She spoke to IANS about working on the film sets and gaining experience before signing the dotted line.
I have not finalised anything yet. I don’t want to rush into something. I think your first movie is like your baby, you are so protective. I am open to all kinds of scripts. I think the industry is changing so rapidly. The movies that you don’t expect to do well, become blockbusters. It has become so content-based.
And does she want to be launched by the man himself?!
I mean, yeah! I don’t think any actor would say no. He (Karan) is family. He is talented and the most amazing director. I think I would start crying if Karan ever directs me. I would get emotional and just die.
Hahah! We feel you, Shanaya! All the best for your future!
