Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas‘ relationship status is pretty much the topic of everyone’s interest these days. The duo whose appearances together began earlier this year picked up speed pretty quickly and before we knew, reports of them going out on multiple dates and holidays began doing the rounds. The fact that both of them are International celebrities has made their relationship updates sort of a world event. So, when reports about the couple being engaged broke out, as expected the world was intrigued, especially since the actress walked out of Salman Khan’s Bharat owing to it.
There has been no official announcement about the engagement but Priyanka has finally broken her silence on reports about her engagement. The actress returned to India yesterday and spoke her mind during a session on ‘Challenging the Status Quo & Forging New Paths’ organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation in Delhi, last night reported IANS.
Here’s what the actress said:
My personal life is not for public consumption. 90 per cent of my life is for public consumption but 10 per cent is for me. I am a girl and I have the right to keep that to myself. My family, friendship, my relationships are things I don’t think I need to defend or explain it to anyone. I am not running for the Office, so I don’t think I need to give explanations.
As someone who ships PeeCee and Nick, I was excited to hear the news too and have eagerly waiting for a statement from either of them. But, as fans or otherwise too, we tend to forget that a celebrity may be a public figure but they do have the right to choose what and how much of their lives they share with the public. Don’t you agree?
