Once you’ve managed to take your eyes off the above picture of Madhavan, you may continue to read this article. We get ya, we had a hard time too!

Madhavan’s all-new web series ‘Breathe’ came out a few weeks ago and the trailer had us all holding our breaths. Madhavan has gone from the charming boy-next-door in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein to the rugged and tough coach in Saala Khadoos, and we’re not complaining! *Fanning ourselves*. So as we grab some popcorn and get ready to binge watch ‘Breathe’ here’s a rundown of all our favourite Madhavan movies that’s turned him into our Man Crush erryday!

Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein

While RHTDM wasn’t sufficiently appreciated back when it released, it’s safe to say that Maddy nailed the bad boy image with a charming smile in the early 2000s. Remember the song ‘zara zara behekta hai’ and the amazing chemistry between Dia Mirza and Maddy?  (We’re still shipping that onscreen couple btw). Safe to say, Maddy managed to capture our hearts and remain there with his adorable face ever since his first movie.

Rang De Basanti

‘I don’t remember Madhavan in those leather jackets in Rang De Basanti said no girl ever. Aviators, leather jackets and fighter pilot uniforms set aside, Madhavan’s cameo as the boyfriend to Soha Ali Khan made all of us wish for one just like him. Also, remember that epic proposal? It was all kinds of #RelationshipGoals. Whether it’s a 20-minute role or a full-length film, Maddy manages to attract the viewers to him.

Guru

Madhavan juggled the fierce journalist and the loyal, married man role like a rockstar. This was also an almost cameo appearance that left us wanting to see more of Madhavan on our screens.

13B: Fear Has A New Address

Let’s just say 13B was just another badge to Maddy’s versatile career. It’s not every day that an Indian actor walks away with a successful horror film, but Maddy did just that. He plays Manohar, the middle-class husband who buys his dream house only to realize it was probably the biggest mistake of his life. But seriously guys, watch this movie if you haven’t. Apart from Madhavan acing his role, the movie is a good one time watch too!

3 Idiots

Then came Farhan Qureshi, the loyal, photographer friend and the storyteller of 3 Idiots. He played the everyday Indian student who is forced to pursue engineering rather than his dream. Maddy showed us again that one does not need to be in the ‘lead role’ to be an amazing actor. He is just as comfortable being the loyal friend to the lead as being the lead himself.

Tanu Weds Manu (Part 1 and 2)

The sweet and innocent Manu ji was total #HusbandMaterial to us even if Tanu might not agree for various reasons. The simplicity with which Maddy portrayed Manu as a man who wears his heart on his sleeve and falls in love with a woman(en), who is nothing short of crazy and badass left us with high hopes of finding our Mr. Right too. What we wouldn’t do to get a Manu ji!

Saala Khadoos

Oh boy! This man just keeps better with age. What do we have to do to look like that and give a stellar performance? Nobody can forget the rugged coach Adi Tomar.  Not only does Maddy look good, but he delivers his part with such determination that you believe him to be just as rough and tough as the coach. Add that to the unfairness thrown at him in the film and we’re already on the coach’s side from the start of the movie. No wonder his student developed a little crush on him, who wouldn’t?
