Recently, while watching Socha Na Tha, it dawned on me that the film is possibly one of the most underrated rom-coms of Bollywood! There are so many moments in the movie that will make every Indian go – “Oh yes! That’s happened!” We give you 10 such instances from the movie that have happened at least once, with you or your friend:
1) Being that girl with suppressed aspirations.
In most Indian families, many can’t really show their “wild” side. It’s not what ladies do, but rather what they SHOULD do. Even if our families are okay with it, there is always a, “log kya kahenge?”
2) Trying to impress the girl who is out of your league.
You’re young, you’re wild and you’re free. Every man desires the perfect hot chick who’d make your bros go – WOAH! She might be out of your league, but you’ve got to impress her.
3) The family pressure!
College done, now what? SHAADI!
4) Being with someone who doesn’t really get you.
It’s a phase of life, you don’t know much about relationships. You’re in the process of figuring everything out – including who the right person is for you.
5) Then suddenly getting along with someone… unexpectedly!
You love being with this person, you don’t mind what time or day it is. Their company is always a pleasure. But unfortunately, you fail to see that – until, they’re gone!
6) Friends will be with you, at every step of your life.
You might have 10 friends or 2 friends. No matter what the number, you know that everything you’ve witnessed in life, as been with them or at a time when they were somewhere around you.
7) Just because someone is wrong for you, doesn’t mean they ARE wrong.
There is a reason why we like some people and don’t like some. It’s all about getting along. Just because that person doesn’t understand you the way you wish to be understood, you can’t hold it against them.
8) The horrors of parents discovering that you’re seeing someone!
Yes, our parents kind of freak out when they realise that we have grown up enough to get into relationships – a relationship that does not involve them for the first time.
9) And the crazy love confusion.
When on one hand you have your partner, and on the other, you have the person who gets you. Who to choose? Do you really love them? Could this work? Because breaking up with someone for someone else is one of the toughest decisions in life.
10) BUT by the end of it, it’s all about companionship!
What keeps a relationship strong and steady is the camaraderie that you two share. Friends are forever! After all, what’s better than falling in love with your best friend?!
Relatable much?
