Nimrat Kaur, who rose to fame last year with The Lunchbox has won hearts and been praised aplenty by critics and the audience for her role in the Dharma film. The actress is now set to make her debut in the fourth seasons of the Emmy Award-winning drama series Homeland.
The 32-year old will essay the role of a high-level operative within Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence. Nimrat, who is currently shooting for the show in CapeTown, confirmed the news via Twitter yesterday. She posted along with a picture of her luggage, “More than just a sign? #Homeland #Season4 #CapeTown #DreamTeam #latergram”.
It’s interesting that the actor hadn’t watched a single episode of the much-loved series before her audition. “Pretty fun for someone who watched the pilot after the screen test! Season 4 Homeland it is,”, she posted on Twitter. Bravo!
Bobby Jasoos actor, Ali Fazal, was also approached for a role in the series but couldn’t commit due to date clashes. Shame, eh? It would’ve been nice to see him in a new avatar!
Kaur will be seen doing some action scenes in the show (Woohoo!) and the season premieres on October 5th. We’re eagerly waiting to see this Indian beauty in her first American show! What about you?
