Vidya Balan has been living up to her name by championing the cause of children’s education. The actress was in Varanasi recently to kick off the second phase of her “Chhote Kadam Pragati Ki Aur” campaign in association with CRY India and the brand she endorses, Nihar Naturals. At Thanapur Village, Ms Balan launched an innovative learning system that she hopes will help the children learn English words easily. All the kids need to do is give a missed call on a toll free number, post which they will receive a call back. The recorded message will then take the children through a special learning module that is intended to hold their attention.
Vidya Balan says:
“I am proud to be associated with this cause as Nihar Naturals Shanti Amla is working towards building a brighter future for India by aiding the cause of education for young children, and also encouraging women to be at the forefront of this change. This year, we have gone a step further and introduced an exciting interactive mobile phone module to help children learn English words easily. This is the second year of the initiative and we aim to reach out to more children in the coming years and spread the light of education.”
It sounds like a super initiative, so kudos to them for putting their weight behind it! What do you think?
