Gucci seems to be everywhere these days! The Italian fashion house sponsored the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s second annual Art + Film Gala − where filmmaker Stanley Kubrick and artist Ed Ruscha were honoured − last Sat night, for which celebs came out in droves. Click through to see pics, and of course, deets of what they wore 🙂
Let’s start with the Gucci queen Salma Hayek-Pinault, who wore a Gucci one-of-a-kind navy silk-crêpe one-shoulder ruched and beaded gown with black crystal peep toe high-heeled pumps and black suede and crystal clutch.
And some ah-may-zing Harry Winston (the jeweller from which Chuck got the engagement ring for Blair, btw :-D) jewels − platinum drop earrings with sapphire and diamonds, which cost $1 million (!!!), and a platinum and diamond bracelet − completed her look.
Cameron Diaz looked totes amazeballs in a hot off the runway number, a lime washed silk-belted cocktail dress with fluted-sleeve detail from Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2013 set. Her accessories of choice, too, were from the S/S’13 collection: black patent leather high-heeled evening shoes, yellow resin, crystal and metal necklace, 18K rose gold and black diamond ‘Horsebit’ cocktail ring, 18K yellow gold and diamond ‘horsebit’ cocktail ring and… the smoky grey Perspex box clutch that I’ve been lusting after since I clocked my eyes on them in the runway :-@
Also getting first dibs into the S/S’13 collection was model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who looked like a goddess in the jasmine green silk sleeveless column gown with flounce neckline. Like Cameron, she teamed the gown with S/S’13 pieces: white patent high-heeled evening sandals and − grrrr − the same transparent plexiglass clutch as Cameron.
Actress Amy Adams wore a reworked S/S’13 deep yellow silk-crêpe strapless gown with crystal and gold embellished belt detail, beige suede and crystal clutch, 18K pink gold, morganite and diamond ‘Horsebit’ earrings with matching cocktail ring.
Oh, I’m in love with Johnny Depp’s current squeeze Amber Heard’s black silk-cady sleeveless cocktail dress, particularly the jet and gold jewelled neckline! The dress, which is a modified version of a S/S’13 number, was accessorised with black patent leather high heels (heart!!), 18K yellow gold and black enamel ‘Diamantissima’ ring and 18K rose gold and black diamond ‘Horsebit’ bracelet.
Actress Kerry Washington, too, wore a modified Gucci S/S’13 number, a coral dutchess satin short-sleeve cocktail dress with tonal jewelled embellishment at the neckline. Gold leather peep toe high-heeled pumps and a pale beige python box clutch rounded off her look.
Australian actress Bella Heathcote wore a one-of-a-kind S/S’13 number, a white all-over embroidered cap-sleeve cocktail dress with gold and cream embellished cut-out detail across the shoulder and at the neck. The dress was well cute, no? Her accompaniments for the dress were: black patent leather multi strap high heeled pump, which I totally loved; gold leather box clutch; 18K rose gold, onyx and diamond ‘Horsebit’ earrings; and 18K rose gold, onyx and diamond ‘Horsebit’ cocktail ring.
Jane Fonda wore a Gucci Autumn/Winter’12 black long-sleeve shirt with brocade and velvet detail and black silk jacquard evening trousers.
Ginnifer Goodwin, too, wore a piece from the A/W’12 collection, a black silk tulle long-sleeve top with black sequin embroidered detail, black feather pencil skirt. Black satin high-heeled evening sandals and crystal detail and black satin clutch completed her look. Special mention for boyfriend Josh Dallas, who, while dressed in Gucci, hit the black-tie bull’s eye!
Actress Minka Kelly wore a A/W’12 one-of-a-kind black silk-georgette halter neck gown with velvet brocade detail, black satin high-heeled evening sandals, 18K white gold and diamond ‘Horsebit’ earrings, ring and cocktail ring.
Model Karlie Kloss was another one to don a A/W’12 number, a emerald green velvet off-the-shoulder gown with black velvet sash. Finishing off her look were: black suede-high heeled evening sandals, black satin beaded clutch, 18K rose gold, onyx and black diamond ‘Horsebit’ earrings with matching necklace and 18K yellow gold and smoky quartz ‘Horsebit’ cocktail ring.
But actress Amber Valletta, gotta say, bagged the best A/W’12 number for herself, a green iridacee printed silk-georgette pleated gown with ruffle detail, in which she looked utterly divine! Black patent leather and suede high-heeled evening sandals and a black satin and crystal clutch completed her look.
Gucci’s girl du jour Florence Welch of course had a gown custom made for the night, a purple silk-cady cape-sleeved gown with plunging neckline and a jewelled buckle belt, which she paired the gown with deep burgundy crocodile peep-toe high-heeled evening sandals.
Finishing off her look were old leather and metal clutch, 18K yellow gold ‘Diamantissima’ earrings, 18K yellow gold ‘Horsebit’ headband and 18K yellow gold ‘Bamboo’ headband, by Gucci, of course.
While performing with her band Florence + The Machine, she wore another custom made number, a mint silk-chiffon, draped evening gown with a transparent cape and embellished detail at the neckline. Gold leather high-heeled evening sandals, 18 K yellow gold ‘Diamantissima’ earrings, 18K yellow gold ‘Horsebit’ necklace and 18K yellow gold ‘Bamboo’ necklace, were her accessories of choice.
Evan Rachel Wood, who held an impromptu session consisting of the tunes The Very Thought of You and I Don’t Know, wore a gorgeous one-of-a-kind number for the night. The nude silk-organza sleeveless cocktail dress with antique rose paillette embroidery was as exquisite as it gets. Blush satin high-heeled evening sandals and a crystal box clutch wonderfully rounded off her ensemble.
While Evan’s new husband Jamie Bell scrubbed up nicely in a Gucci made-to-order black satin peak lapel two-button ‘Marseille’ dinner suit with matching waistcoat, white dress shirt, black satin bowtie and black patent leather lace ups. Another Gucci-clad couple were Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers. Like Jamie, Armie (who played Gabriel in GG) too wore a made-to-order black peak lapel two-button ‘Marseille’ dinner suit with white dress shirt, black satin bowtie and black leather lace-ups. While wife Elizabeth wore a one-of-a-kind gold one-sleeved all-over embroidered cocktail dress with gold sequin and leather high-heeled evening sandals and a copper leather box clutch.
Other Gucci-clad heartthrobs of the night were Chris Evans, Robert Pattinson and Sebastian Stan (Carter Baizen in GG). Chris wore a made-to-order black peak lapel one button ‘Signoria’ dinner jacket with white dress shirt, black satin tie and black patent leather lace ups. He looks so not put together, and it’s mainly to do with not fastening the top button of his jacket. R-Patz, however, nailed it in a Pre-Fall 2012 black shantung silk notch lapel two-button dinner suit with white dress shirt, black grosgrain tie and black leather lace ups. But my pick out of the three has to be Sebastian, who was full of swag in a black peak lapel two-button ‘Signoria’ dinner suit with white dress shirt, black grosgrain bowtie, white silk pocket square and black patent leather lace-ups.
One attendant who caught my eye was the Korean singer/actor/model Choi Si-won. He’s well cute, no?
Not least, he was dressed ever so well. I’ll overlook the wingtip collar and pre-tied bow, only for him 🙂 And the lucky lady in his arms looked resplendent in a burgundy Gucci A/W’12 number.
Anna Wintour was there too, in a modified Rochas S/S’13 number and her trusty Manolo Blahnik kitten heels. For a change, I liked what she wore!
