Designer Dilnaz Karbhary, with her years of experience in custom-made couture, has launched her new range of bridal gowns, sarees and couture ensembles for the bridal season. She offers some quick tips for brides looking for the ideal look and outfit:
With so many questions in the young brides’s mind about what to wear on the most important day of her life, Dilnaz advises, “Have fun choosing your bridal attire. Most brides get so stressed that they lose out on the fun of planning the most beautiful evening in their life. Stress, fret and panic is part of the process. All you’ve got to do is ease out and decide how you want it and TRUST the best will happen, as it indeed will.”
Dilnaz also advises the bride on what fabrics to choose and says, “I think this would essentially depend on which part of the year and where you would be getting married. That would predetermine your choice of fabric.”
“Your choice can vary from fine nets for a summer wedding combined with chiffons or georgettes or even fine chanderis if you want something more old world and traditional. If it is a winter wedding then go the whole hog – choose from plush velvets, to rich brocades or heavy tussars and silks. They are all beautiful options and all of them lend themselves to exquisite embroideries which will give you that Royal Indian Princess look,” adds the designer.
Of course, when scouting for a bridal look, it’s imperative to know what you want – although often brides get confused and it’s understandable.
To this dilemma, the designer suggests, “Perhaps you can turn the tables and think of what it is that you don’t want. It’s like a warm up for you to see more which will help to avoid follies.”
