Delhi’s Ritu Beri has not showed at Lakmé Fashion Week (or Mumbai, for that matter) in a number of years. And so it was with bated breath that the city’s fashionista’s took in her collection which was supposedly inspired by Marilyn Monroe (I didn’t see any Monroe “inspiration”) but was actually a tribute to vintage France and it’s royal past.

There was enough lace, net, ruffles and exaggerated cuffs which would have Marie Antoinette in her elements. Tiny faux fur shrugs complemented the ruffled gowns and gold or silver quilted jackets were the perfect match for the formal evening wear.

Model Jesse Randhawa ended the show in a sensational black net creation with strategically placed white lace appliqué and a dramatic fabric tasselled trail and boa (see video).
