Yesterday, we told you that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil found itself amidst controversy yet again when Mohammed Rafi’s son Shahid Rafi slammed a dialogue in the film. During a dialogue exchange between Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma‘s characters in the film, Anushka says, “Mohammed Rafi? Woh gaate kam, rote zyaada the na?” (“Mohammed Rafi? He used to cry more and sing less, right?”). Now, according to a report in BollywoodHungama, Sonu Nigam is equally upset with the dialogue and allegedly backed Shahid’s stance.
This is what he reportedly said:
If you can listen to the same joke about your parents then we are wrong. If your blood boils then hum sahi hain beta (then we’re right). A man has passed away. He’s not merely considered a singer, people refer to him as a Saint. When something bad will be said about your father then obviously you’d get hurt.
The Karan Johar-Sonu combination is to die for – they’ve dished out popular hits in the past and we really hope this doesn’t change anything. We also hear that Bappi Lahiri was of the opinion that the dialogue was disrespectful towards veteran singers. Tell us what you think!
