Tanmay Bhat has been the number 1 trending topic in Mumbai for the last 24 hours. I mean, digital PR agencies and ‘influencers’ are actually paid to make a certain movie, hashtag, contest or a politician trend, but Tanmay has managed to do this with a Snapchat video. Yep, the same app most of us use to look like cats, dogs, swap faces with friends or just take selfies (with better filters than Instagram). The same app where people have sent unsolicited dick pics to my friends just because they happened to make their Snapchat ids public (that has surprisingly never caused outrage). Tanmay’s one video from the series of Snapstories he puts up on Sachin Tendulkar vs Lata Mangeshkar has caused such a shitstorm on social media and the news that there are now FIRs being filed against this guy. Here’s a list of the hilarious tweets I saw on Twitter about this drama.

Why is #IStandWithTanmay not trending yet? Also, it was easier to tweet this while sitting.

But when will Tanmay crack jokes on Rahul Dravid??? Real legend is always neglected in India.

Pls take @Riteishd saying “disrespect is not cool” seriously. He totes isn’t sustained by high-budget disrespect 🙂 pic.twitter.com/DSWg97yJy6

What’s really irritating me is everyone spelling his last name with a double t.

But the best tweets belong to Bhat himself.
A snapstory is going to be on the news tonight. Congrats everyone.
