The men are taking total control of the style spotlight and it was about time they did! Yesterday kickstarted day 1 of GQ India‘s #FashionNights that presents refined menswear by the some of the best in Indian fashion. We saw Saif Ali Khan, Randeep Hooda and Kunal Kapoor working the runway in dapper looks. The designers and brands showcasing last night were Shantanu & Nikhil, Van Heusen, Troy Costa & Raghavendra Rathore and we’re giving you all the details on their shows, right here.
P.S. We have to give a major shout out to stylist extraordinaire, Gautam Kalra and GQ India‘s, Vijendra Bhardwaj who are style consultants for all shows of the two-day event!
Shantanu & Nikhil
The duo is known for their beautiful control on draping and placing a strong emphasis on form. Playing to their strengths, their collection – The Cabinet Mission 1946 drew inspirations from the Nehruvian Era presented in a contemporary way. Cropped waistcoats, layered hems and clean lines represented the essence of British India but served for the men of today!

Van Heusen
From old-world to an evolved India, Van Heusen showcased a slick collection. The slim formal silhouettes were complemented with accessories like bow ties, pocket squares, hats and printed umbrellas. Kunal Kapoor closed the show in fun semi-formal separates with a bow tie and a hat!

Troy Costa
The show was an homage to our love affair with Parisian fashion. Troy Costa bombarded us with flashes of prints in polkas, florals, houndstooth and checks. It’s a collection fit for the quintessentially refined traveller who loves a jolt of colour with a slight twist. Randeep Hooda walked for Costa as the show-stopper and we also caught up with him backstage!

Raghavendra Rathore
No one does stately menswear like Raghavendra Rathore. Inspired by the Raj, Rathore’s The Imperial India Company collection aims to make tailored brilliance affordable. The label’s staple styles like the Bandhgala and breeches were presented with an updated sartorial edit. Embodying Raghavendra’s vision was a friend, supporter and superstar, Saif Ali Khan. MissMalini had a quick chat with the Nawab backstage and we have the video coming up shortly. But for now check this out!
