Our Indian TV serials are over the top to say the least and recently I have developed this awesome habit of reading their plots on Wikipedia. No, seriously, here’s a list of the funniest plots I’ve read which will definitely make you laugh too. I mean I hope they do! Check it out.
1) Diya Aur Baati Hum or the game of babies and kidneys
Then Bulbul tells Bhabho that Sandhya has given kidney to Bhabho. To return the favor of her kidney. Bhabho agrees to give her kidney. After that Sandhya’s delivery date comes and Sandhya delivers two sons. The namkarn ceremony happens after her delivery and Bulbul’s mom names her baby as Vansh and Sooraj’s sister names the other baby has ved. After that Sandhya gives the baby to Ankur. After a few days, both of Sandhya’s babies go missing. After finding both of them Sandhya hugs them tightly. Ankur felt insulted that Vansh is their baby but still Sandhya hugs him first. Due to this misunderstanding, they gets separated for few years and the serial takes a leap of few years.
2) Ye Hai Mohabbatien or the marriage musical chairs
The marriage is called off and Ashok marries Mihika, but Mihika doesn’t allow Ashok to touch her, but he plans a party and forcefully makes her sensuously dance with him. Mihir starts hating Mihika as they loved each other, but Mihika left him for Ashok. Shagun tries to create problems for Ishita in the Bhalla house. Everyone finds out about Shagun’s intention and tell her to leave. Mihir accepts to marry Raman’s sister Rinky as Rinky and Nikhil’s marriage is cancelled as Nikhil is already married to Amrita.
3) Sasural Simar Ka or the curious case of the big bad ghost
In an unknown period of time, Roli runs Sunna over with a car (even though she hasn’t). Roli tells this mistake to her sister, Simar. Simar goes over the cliff and finds Sunaina’s Husband Vikrant. Vikrant blackmails Simar that if she doesn’t stay with her and doesn’t be the mother of Sunaina’s daughter, he will throw Roli in jail. Simar agrees. The Bharadwaj family finds that she is dead. Her death happened when she fall of the cliff. Soon two years pass, Anjali (Simar’s child]) misses her mom and Roli takes her over. Simar soon gets a little suspicious when a girl named Aditi tells her that she is Sunna’s best friend. It’s later revealed that Aditi is actually, Sunaina’s ghost. Sunaina and Simar finds out that Vikrant’s mother and Vikrant’s brother killed her. Sunaina then possess Simar’s body and lives her life. Sunaina can’t go to the temple because she is now a bad ghost
4) Balika Vadhu or the show Wikipedia doesn’t even have a ‘plot summary’ for.
5) Kyunki Saas Bhai Kabhi Bahu Thi or the super fertile sperm of Karan.
Meanwhile, Ganga delivers a baby boy; Lakshya. Three years pass. When Tanya comes to know of her pregnancy Nandini comes out of coma. Karan and Nandini start living as couple and the truth of his marriage with Tanya is not revealed to her. Subsequently she comes to know about that and accepts Tanya and her child. However, in a mysterious turn of events Aditya Gujaral dies and Karan takes the blame on him. Nandini comes forward and reveals that she is the actual murderer as he was trying to snatch Bhoomi from her. She goes on to serve life sentence while she was pregnant with Karan’s child
6) Sadda Haq or the show where everyone dies
Parth saves Vidushi from her ex-husband’s trap. Jiggy commits suicide. Rana’s drug racket operation inside FITE fails, taking the lives of Prof. Vardhan and a student. Sanyukta’s mother settles down in Randhir’s father’s apartment. FITE reopens. Randhir’s best friend Karan dies in an accident. Prof. Abhay, the new Dream Team mentor’s past unfolds. Sanyukta’s mother dies after her battle with brain tumor
7) Iss Pyaar Kio Kya Naam Doon or the funniest description of characters ever.
The story is about the love and hate relationship between Shlok Agnihotri and Astha Shlok Agnihotri. If Shlok is a hot beam of the sun rays then Astha is a gentle moonlight that glimmers. If Shlok is an expresso, then our Astha is a creamy cup of latte. If Shlok is a gusty wind, then Astha is a breath of fresh air. Their very nature is completely the opposite of each other. The statement “Ek raat, ek roshini” describes them well.
8) Kasautii Zindagii Kay or make up your mind Prerna
In an attepmt to save Sneha who has been diagnosed with leukemia, Anurag and Prerna have another child for marrow transplantation and name him Prem in the memory of their previous dead son. Sneha is saved. Rishabh and Prerna get married to each other. Prerna slowly falls in love with Mr. Bajaj and in the later chapters is shown to be in love with him only. Anurag Prerna’s love changes into a deep friendship. Various twists and turns and introduction of several new characters later, the story finally ends with the souls of Anurag-Prerna uniting forever.
9) Kayamath or the tale of another big bad ghost
Gayatri gets a job for Prachi; she is very happy. Prachi gets a Ganesha statue and goes to Gayatri’s house to give it to her out of gratitude. When Gayatri sees the statue she becomes very tense and cannot bear to look at it. On Prachi and Milind’s wedding anniversary, the whole family gives them a surprise party. Gayarti also comes to the party. Prachi brings her to meet Milind. But when Prachi turns towards Gayatri she is surprised to see no one there. Then Gayatri reveals that she is Ayesha’s spirit, whom no one but Prachi can see. The spirit tells Prachi that she will get into her body and live as Milind’s wife. Prachi begs Ayesha not to do so, but the spirit is adamant.
10) Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani or reverse Twilight
Battles ensue between the vampires and the werewolves. During this time Piya regains her memory, and reunites with Abhay, but he fears for her safety, so they tell no one. Alina, Jeh’s sister, falls in love with Abhay, and he agrees to be with her, if only to protect Piya. Another battle occurs, during which Deepanita, Jeh’s mother, dies. Eventually, Abhay turns from a vampire to a human by using a magical potion and leaves Dehradun with Pia.
11) Khauf Begins…Ringa Ringa Roses because THE SHOW’S NAME IS KHAUF BEGINS RINGA RINGA ROSES!
