I’m sure you all remember the brouhaha that Arpita Khan‘s grand wedding had created last year! It had kick-started with the reunion of her brother Salman Khan with Shah Rukh Khan at the night of her ceremony and that was followed by an array of star-studded events. And the Khandaan has geared up yet again to celebrate the union of Arpita and her hubby Aayush Sharma. But this time, the function is being held in the groom’s hometown, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Arpita is quite excited about her wedding reception that is going to be held tonight and has even posted a couple of photos online.
Now, here are some details about the big night.
Dham is a traditional community feast, which is going to be organised by Aayush’s father and state Rural Development Minister, Anil Sharma. He has planned this event to felicitate his daughter-in-law and son. What’s more, it seems the state government of Himachal Pradesh has declared Sallu bhai a guest of honour. Moreover, the Khan family was received by a chopper from Chandigarh. Apparently, more than 10,000 people are going to be present at the do. The term Dham is apparently derived from the name of a traditional meal which is served to the guests on leaf plates.
The four-course meal consists of the chaa ghosht (lamb cooked in yogurt gravy) or murgh anardana (chicken stewed in pomegranate paste), Himachali dal channa and mathri choware. The main course will have a spread of several breads (rotis). For desserts, there’s going to be meethe chawal (sweetened rice) with dry fruits and saffron. The food is cooked in copper vessels which impart a unique flavour to the dishes.
