What a movie this was! Inspired by the Michael Douglas and Demi Moore starrer Disclosure, Aitraaz changed the way we look at sexual harassment, victimisation and Priyanka fu#@ing Chopra. This was the movie when people got to finally see the talent ka valcano Priyanka is, so check out 10 convincing reasons why Aitraaz is WOW!
1) The concept.
As I said above, Aitraaz was a first for Bollywood. I don’t think we had ever seen a movie where a woman wants to hire a man to fulfill her sexual needs. Basically, making him her keep. Even though Priyanka’s character, Sonia Roy meets with a bad end, the tables had turned and how! Also, let’s not forget that it was Kareena Kapoor‘s character, Priya who finally got her husband’s name cleared of all charges. Women power FTW.
2) Kareena Kapoor as Goldilocks.
I think many people will agree with me when I say this, Kareena is the only woman who could pull off bleached hair. Still, Bebo should stick to black.
3) Priyanka Chopra.
4) Priyanka Chopra.
5) PRIYANKA CHOPRA!
She might have turned out to be a Grade A bitch later, but Priyanka was amazing in this scene. Everything she said here rings a bell with many women. It’s all about our choices, remember?
6) Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra’s sexbomb chemistry.
Dude!!!!
7) Introducing us to the words – Talatum Talatum.
Never heard it before. Thanks Aitraaz!
8) And a song like – Gela gela dil gela gela.
Easiest song to write, I’m sure!
9) Show me you’re an animal, Raj!
This scene of PC aggressively seducing Akshay Kumar is groundbreaking. Never have I seen a woman so open about her desire in Bollywood. Of course, we cannot forget that Akshay stopped her after a locket with Kareena’s face comes out of his shirt (this is Bollywood) but this scene was iconic!
10) Rock me baby!
How awkward was this song to shoot? One can only wonder! But then again, what a song! I remember a kid singing this at a family party I attended, much to the mortification of her parents. It was hilarious.
Special mention – Amrish Puri’s hat.
What a cool hat.
Special-er mention – this bro.
Best line said by a judge in Indian cinema!
