Let’s just accept the fact that we’ll never get over Gossip Girl. Various people have various reasons to remain obsessed with the show – there’s Chuck and Blair‘s grand love story or Dan and Serena‘s adorable one. But for me, the best and the most important aspect of this show was Serena and Blair’s friendship. That is why whenever I think of a desi version of Gossip Girl, the most important people for me are Serena and Blair, and I really think the breathtaking Deepika Padukone and the gorgeous Sonam Kapoor would slay as these two! How? Find out!
Serena is lively, gorgeous and has legs that never end!
Have you seen Deepika Padukone?
Blair dictates what’s fashionable and what’s not in Upper East Side
Sonam does the same in Bollywood!
Serena has an alcohol problem and is somewhat damaged.
Deepika has already played that in Cocktail with aplomb!
Blair is a bitch to the world but amazing to her friends.
Sonam portrayed a role like this perfectly in Aisha.
Blair is sometimes brutal to Serena…
A lot like what Ms Kapoor does to Deepika, sometimes.
Uh-huh.
Sonam and Deepika have always been considered rivals since the start, just like Blair and Serena.
They even made their Bollywood debut in the same year! Whereas Serena and Blair have often been pitched against each other when it comes to being the queen of Constance.
Blair has this habit of talking to or about Serena all the time, and it’s often uncomplimentary.
Deepika has this easy charm about her, something Serena has also been blessed with.
They’ve both been linked to the ‘golden boy’ of their respective kingdoms.
Nate was the bone of contention between the ladies of Upper East Side (at least in the first season). Ranbir was linked to Sonam because they made their debut together and he later dated Deepika for years. Coincidence? I think not.
And finally, when the two of them join forces, history rewrites itself. Quite literally!
In Gossip Girl, Serena and Blair took down whoever messed with them. In Koffee With Karan season three, Deepika and Sonam joined hands and ripped apart literally each and everyone from Bollywood (we’re sure Ranbir still hasn’t gotten over it).
I rest my case.
