Hum Paanch was a classic and I know every Indian kid growing up in the ’90s will agree with that. I remember watching the show religiously, sometimes even watching the same episode twice in a day (#FanGirlProblems). So being a self-appointed expert on this show, I have decided to rank the five sisters who added the punch to Hum Paanch!
5) Chhoti
Yeh Gappu sabse chhoti, aur gappe moti moti! So cute! But, as compared to the other firecrackers, Chhoti still had a lot to learn, hence she is number Paanch!
4) Radhika
Radhika… sweet and studious Radhika with a hearing problem. She was unintentionally the butt of many jokes, but because she’s a nerd I rank her above Chhoti!
Oh hi Vidya Balan! Who would have thought this Radhika would turn out to be such a big star!
3) Meenakshi
Yes, yes, she was the belan using, andolan keeping and perpetually shrieking woman who no one was really fond of, but at least we had a character who was into women’s rights back the ’90s! So for being a firebrand, Meenakshi deserves some bronze!
2) Sweety
Sweety has a 60% contribution on making this show so damn funny! Her dialogues, her antics and of course, her singing while answering the doorbell are stuff legends are made of. Sweety you were an idol for many young little Miss India wannabees and we really love you for that.
1) Kajal Bhai
The woman for whom the hashtag #BossB*tch was made. Kajal bhai is iconic and my favourite sister, no two (or five) ways about it!
Overall favourite character
She’s not a sister but man she’s got sass! Anand’s first was the Queen we all bow down to.
