The moment fashion model, Mariia Cherniakovych shot out through the laser lights, it was clear that Namrata Joshipura sees winter 2015 as a sexy affair. Joshipura has always been about the strong sillhoutes with sheen and a jolt of femme fatale. But this season at The FDCI presents Amazon India Fashion Week, the label showcased a collection with their staple signatures and a few new attractions. All in all, it was a joy ride of a show and here’s what we loved about it.
I have my reservations against sequins and shiny garments. But not when designers like Namrata Joshipura do it (or Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna of CUE). Their aesthetics when using sequins and embellishments come out as refined and refreshingly polished. While the looks were all classically Joshipura, what I really enjoyed were the sharp line in the deep V necks and the slits. Joshipura brought in a few caped looks, that I don’t really see her do a lot and I’m glad she took that direction.
Here are our top picks from the sheer, sexy and a very essentially Namarata Joshipura collection at #AIFW on Day 3. But before that, here are a few lines from a Lamb song that beautifully sums up the entire line up…
You’re gonna feel a little wind below your heels tonight. you’re gonna feel a sparkle in your step. Everything will touch you in a different way. Let it come, soon come, let it come.

It’s clear that Namrata sees winter time as a moment for women to take charge of their femininity and present it in razor sharp way. And I have nothing to complain in a line-up filled with looks like pant-suits, sexy leggy dresses and obviously, the capes. Stay tuned as we power through Day 4 at #AIFW and the fashion is now reaching its peak moment as we draw closer to the finale with 25 designer commemorating 25 years of India Fashion week. It’s all very exciting and we’re not letting you miss a moment of it!
