The AIB Knockout is literally in the news everyday for some reason. So much so, that the boys had to come out with an official response to all the ridiculous controversy that is surrounding them. While some stars like Ram Gopal Verma and Alia Bhatt are coming out in support of the event, there are some stars who are shying away from making a comment. Case in point: Varun Dhawan.
Varun was out and about recently promoting his upcoming film Badlapur – that I am really looking forward to – and he was asked for a quote about the whole AIB hoopla. Varun avoided answering any of those questions saying he’s just gotten back from Amritsar and hasn’t watched the show to comment on it. On further probing, he said:
I have just finished Badlapur. And our film is just going to the censor board for review so I don’t want to say anything controversial!
Well, Varun is clearly going for the ‘better to be safe than sorry’ policy. And can you blame him? In the light of all the nonsense that’s curbing our freedom of speech, would our celebrities not be scared to voice their opinions?
Like TVF put it so well, there’s #nocountryforfunnymen!
