She has been a beauty pageant winner. She is one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood. She’s an international pop star. And she recently won oodles of acclaim for her portrayal of the boxing champion, Mary Kom, in her last release. But that’s not all. The super multi-talented Priyanka Chopra has also been an active philanthropist. The B-town beauty never shies away from standing up for and supporting the right causes.
The superstar has recently joined hands with our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, by participating in the ‘Clean India‘ campaign (also known as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan). PeeCee recently wielded the broom for the ‘Clean India’ drive in Mumbai, after being nominated by Modi. Unlike most other celebrity nominees, she went all out and took the responsibility to revamp an entire area in 16 days. Taking help from the BMC and Sun Foundation, Chopra chose a village in Versova, Mumbai.
She was actively involved as she picked up the garbage herself and even advised the residents to keep it clean. Not just that, PeeCee put in her resources to rehabilitate a community and give the children a healthy environment where they can play freely without fear of getting hurt. What’s more, the gorgeous diva also painted fun graffiti on the walls in that area, to remind the residents to keep the area clean.
See her leaving no stone unturned in cleaning the mess in Versova:
Kudos to to the powerpuff girl for making the unthinkable happen in such little time! Take a cue from Piggy Chops and join the bandwagon of the ‘Clean India’ campaigners.
