Sad news pouring in. Son of B.R Chopra, filmmaker Ravi Chopra breathed his last today at 68 years of age. He was admitted to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai and has been there for a while now. He was fighting his battle against lung cancer. Chopra was responsible for the turning point in Indian television: Mahabharat. He has also directed films like Zameer (1975), The Burning Train (1980), Mazdoor (1983), Dahleez (1986), Baghban (2003) and Baabul (2006).
A source close to the Chopras said:
He passed away today at around 3.30 p.m. His funeral most probably will take place tomorrow at around 11.
He was expected to return to television with another mythological series, Vasudev Krishna in the coming year. Ravi Chopra’s death is a huge loss to our industry. May his soul Rest In Peace. Our deepest condolences to his friends and family.
