As desi girls, we’ve grown up listening to dadi and nani ke nuskhe on coconut oil, almond oil, and more.… for the hair or skin. They probably weren’t qualified skin experts, but that doesn’t mean they got it all wrong. Of late, oils seem to be doing the rounds for their touted benefits. I know all this can get a little confusing. So, let’s break down one of the five most popular oils, what they do, and how you should use them. First stop: Almond Oil
Almond oil has Vitamins A, B, and E, which is probably gibberish to you, but that means it works as a great moisturiser! It moisturises deeper than most products and soothes dry skin. It battles several signs of ageing and absorbs swiftly into your skin, avoiding blocked pores. Here are a few great ways to use it.
1. Makeup Remover
Dab a little bit of almond oil onto a cotton pad and remove all excess dirt and makeup from your eyes, face, and neck.
2. Treat Chapped Lips.
Mix a little almond oil with honey and leave on your lips for about 10 – 15 minutes.
3. Moisturise Your Face & Body.
Almond oil is an amazing moisturiser that can be used on, literally, any part of your skin.
4. Use it as Leave-In Conditioner.
Since almond oil is thinner than most oils, take a coin sized dollop and work into your hair as a leave-in moisturiser. Please make sure you avoid your scalp at all costs. You don’t want to leave the house with greasy hair.
