February 2015 couldn’t come soon enough! Why, you ask? It’s time for Fifty Shades Of Grey, the movie, to hit theatres! If you haven’t read the book and are going to dive straight in to the movie, don’t worry; we aren’t posting up any spoilers. Just some bits about who is going to play which character and other fun facts you need to know before you watch what might possibly be soft-porn on a very large screen – in public (Oh God!).
How It Started
After the vampire love-fest that was the Twilight series (yes, I loved the books and yes, I watched all the movies), another fan by the name of E.L. James probably thought, ‘Hey! Now that it’s over, wouldn’t it be fun to write my own version of the story?’ And so, Fifty Shades of Grey was born. In the meanwhile we thought, ‘Hey! It’s another Twilight, how fun!’ – Little did I know.
The Lead Characters
After months and months of casting, originally, Charlie Hunnam was set to play Mr. Christian Grey. But reports say he couldn’t handle the pressure and all the extra attention and eventually bowed out. For Anastasia Steele, there were rumours about Shailene Woodley and Emma Watson, but none of those turned out to be true.
Jamie Dornan, is set to finally play the power-hungry hunk. Can I just add, how dreamy does he look? In all honesty, I was hoping Ian Somerhalder (think The Vampire Diaries) would be cast; but now, Facebook released the first photo of Jamie playing Christian, and he looks gorgeous!
Dakota Johnson will be playing the meek Anastasia Steele. Petite and pretty, she seems like the perfect person to play the role. Wonder how her boyfriend handled her shooting all those entangled scenes.
Did You Know
Singer, Rita Ora is set to play Christians adopted sister Mia Grey in the movie. Can’t wait to see Rita’s acting chops.
You can actually apply for an internship with Grey Enterprises Holdings Inc. – right here. The website even lets you know that they will contact you about any openings – anything to meet Christian Grey, am I right?
There were questions about if all three books will be adapted in just one movie. Author E.L. James cleared that right up.
The movie is set to release on Valentine’s Day next year (how apt) and will of course be R rated. There are no official trailers as yet, but stay put. We’ll share one as soon as we know it’s out. Until then, laters baby *wink.
