It’s our 2nd last night in Dhaka and I’m glad we managed to get some shopping in outside of the wedding goodies we raked up 🙂 and I now have a ton of bling to put in all my new jewelry boxes (including some super cute terracotta rings) and a gorgeous pink Nokshi katha sari (that’s classic to Bangladesh) yay! 🙂
So a couple places you must visit when you come here are Aarong (a shopping mall chain which has almost everything you can think of) and American Burger (if you, like me, you really miss having a good old beef burger in Mumbai.) Go on, take a look at the spoils of my shopping spree and get yourself that ring!
You know how all your clothes from “abroad” are either made in India, China or Bangladesh? Well we went straight to the source! (Unfortunately not as much choice in the women’s department but absolutely the cutest things for little people!)
Officially rated “hott” by hottDhaka.com, means its good enough for me. Btw, I heard a funny story about why they sell B&H at American Burger, apparently the peeps over at B&H offered to build their outlets in exchange for a little in-house branding. Clever!
And there you have it, just a tiny snapshot of a massive city. The only thing that really kills you is the traffic but then I’m a Mumbai girl after all 🙂 oh and watch out Bollywood, I’m bringing Ludo Back!
PS. I have a major bone to pick with the people who make Kinder chocolates. my entire childhood I would wait eagerly for trips to the supermarket so I could get me one. But now they’ve dorked it all up and taken the egg out of the Kinder Egg! Who’s idea was that?! #EPICFAIL
