Delhi has always been the power capital, but now with Bobbi Brown’s arrival it can be renamed the “Pretty Powerful Capital”. The much loved make-up brand has finally arrived in India, and for its first home it has chosen Select City Walk. To celebrate this, Bobbi Brown’s Marta Preito came into town, and hosted a lazy Friday lunch at Lodi’s On the Waterfront. Packed with Delhi’s prettiest and most powerful women, it was an afternoon of flawless beauty. Feroze Gujral, Pernia Qureshi, Fleur Xavier, Tanisha Mohan, Namrata Joshipura and Rina Dhaka were among those who came to welcome Bobbi Brown to Delhi.
This lunch was not only about girls as Estee Lauder’s Country Manager Rohan Vaziralli, Miss Malini’s Nowshad Rizwanullah and man about town Sujal Shah added some much needed male perspective to the occasion and made the working women feel less guilty about spending a working afternoon indulging themselves.
But the real stars were some other males, make-up artists Eliano Bou Assi and Eduardo Ferreria. These boys were very much in demand, and as the brand’s directors of artistry and education, they were full of tips.
I was lucky enough to have a personal make-up lesson with Eliano. And here is what I learned: never apply make-up without first applying moisturizer, it gives a smoother finish to concealer and foundation. You need to use both a bronzer and blush on the cheeks; the bronzer should be used on cheekbones and the blush on the apple of the cheeks. Thirdly, the most important part of eye-make up is brow definition. Use an eye shadow that matches your natural brow shade. It seems even after all these years of wearing make-up, one can never know all the tricks!
