As expected, Veda has finally started getting more comfortable at My Gym Children’s Fitness Center and is having so much fun! During Session 1 and Session 2, Veda was a little bit more unsure and hesitant with trying out all the equipment and activities. This time around, she was hard to keep still and just wanted to explore!
As always, My Gym had rearranged their equipment and had a brand new exciting set-up. During the free playtime and warm up, Veda was at ease and joined right in. After she had loosened up, the My Gym team pulled out the skateboards and hula-hoops. Veda had a hard time staying on the skateboard, but she enjoyed crawling in and out of the hula-hoop. I thought this was a great exercise to work on spatial recognition.
Then it was time for a bit more exercise. The first time we tried the handlebars, Veda was not thrilled. This time, she loved it! She did an amazing job holding on tightly and Jamin was very encouraging. Jamin barely had to support her since she was basically hanging on her own! Who knew babies could do that? The team also had another activity set up to allow the babies to “jump” from one platform to another.
We took a break with another free play session. I decided to try her in the ball pit again, even though she wasn’t really interested last time. Again, this time she had so much fun. She really enjoyed watching the other babies in the pit with her and throwing around the colorful balls.
The last activity was to explore the new maze set-up. Just as she was getting a bit tired, we sat in the swings. The bubbles and the swinging were very relaxing. This time we also tried the zip line swing, though Veda wasn’t really interested.
We ended the class with the usual circle time puppet show and goodbye song. This was a perfect way to wind down and get her ready for her naptime. 🙂 I am now starting to see a change in her developmentally. She is becoming more social and comfortable trying new activities. With all these monsoon rains, My Gym has been a great little outing for Veda. The 45min class time is just the right amount before she gets too tired or loses interest.
