“This room is the most stylish place in the world tonight,” remarked Manish Malhotra at the 2013 Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards. But, was it, really? Let’s see how the men fared, shall we?
Madhur Bhandarkar, WTF with those jeans? Burn. Right. Now. And that logo-flashing belt. Eyesore.
Bowled over by Abhishek Bachchan’s outfit, here. The tailoring’s impeccable, and he looks a-dork-able.
Anil Kapoor kept his Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit on the right side of shiny and looked proper slick while at it. But, I do have a teeny gripe − actually, no, a big one! − about this ensemble, and it has to do with the matching polka dot tie and pocket square. Those two should never match, Mr Kapoor!
Amitabh Bachchan was full of swag, as always. Just look at the 1.5-button jacket and the smoking slippers. How do you do it, every bleeding time, Big B??
Akshay Kumar looked oh-so-elegant in a Arjun Khanna bandhgala, Dolce & Gabbana trousers and Saint Laurent Paris shirt. And big brownie points for finishing off the look with that polka-dotted pocket square! Enterprise class.
Totally tripping on this grey Kunal Rawal blazer on Shahid Kapoor! Erm, Rashmi, can you make sure that your future husband never leaves the home without doing up the top button of his suit jacket/blazer? And oh, another polka dot pocket square sighting there. Once a fluke, twice a coincidence, thrice a trend, they say… 😉
Nikhil Chib looked implausibly rakish in an azure blue wide peak lapel suit by Govind Mehta and burgundy slim tie from Zara. Ferragamo shoes and Canali belt rounded off his look. Btw, all credit goes to his missus, Natasha, for this look; she’s his stylist extraordinaire.
As befitting of his credentials, Freddy Daruwala looked well trendy in a slim-fitting grey flecked suit by Sanjay Hingu.
Marc Robinson caught my eye too in that bandhgala, which, could have been better-fitted. Still, nice one, Mr Robinson.
I’m a sucker for desi menswear, so the kurta-and-achkan-clad Rohit Shetty ranks high on my best-dressed list for the night. He was bested only by…
…Imran Khan, who brought his A-game out that night! He wore that lush midnight blue shawl-collar Tom Ford dinner suit that I’ve been raving about, that Daniel Craig wore in Skyfall, that Jay-Z wore to the grand opening of his nightclub, that Bradley Cooper wore to this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards. Perfection, head-to-toe, this.
