Is there a word to describe the kind of adoration Shah Rukh Khan receives from his fans? ‘Shah Rukh-mania’, ‘Shah Rukh-ism’, ‘Shah Rukh-ology’… whatever you call it, he has the kind of fans that will go all out, whether it’s dressing up as him (complete with Challa guitar), making rangoli for him, or coming all the way from Russia just to get a glimpse of him. I witnessed this exact love at Mannat yesterday, when several fans gathered outside of his house to wish him a happy birthday. I still don’t know exactly what word describes that adoration perfectly, but they say a picture speaks a thousand words, so I’ll just share those with you!
The entrance area to Mannat was covered with bouquets and balloons that people had sent for SRK.
Let’s not doubt the dedication of this guy. He came dressed fully in-character, and even stuck a bunch of Jab Tak Hai Jaan stickers on his guitar. Plus, when we asked if we could take a picture of him, he happily pulled out a pose!
Crazy, right? I hear this took them hours!
Clearly, the love of SRK is not contained to India only. Folks from Russia and Japan also came all the way just to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
And, of course, he loves his fans right back so he stepped out to wave at them…
I have to tell you, I was inside the Mannat compound as well for the media interaction, but standing outside with the rest of the fans completely trumped that. There’s something about that energy, the screaming, and the pure happiness on everyone’s faces that will definitely bring out the fangirl/boy in you. 🙂 If you need further proof, just check out the video:
