In case you were wondering, I’m in the US on vacay for two weeks so blogging intermittently from here, this is also why you’re getting my tweets at random hours like 5am (don’t worry I’m not turning into a morning person or anything *lol*)
I saw an awesome broadway musical tonight with people… AND puppets! It’s called Avenue Q and tells the story of several 20 somethings that live on the fictitious “Avenue Q” in New York dealing with love, life and friendship in musical muppet fashion! As expected, the set is cool, the actors and puppeteers are extremely talented and the whole show delightfully stuns you with some hilarious irreverent song topics and even puppet fornication. (Oh yeah, they took it there.)
My favorite characters by far though were the “Bad Idea Bears” who represent those evil voices in your head that convince you to do shots on a school night and make you love them for it. *lol* genius, evil but genius 🙂
FYI, with 2,534 performances, Avenue Q ranks 22nd on the list of longest running shows in Broadway history.
The show ended its Broadway run on September 13, 2009, and then reopened Off-Broadway at New World Stages in October 2009. If you get a chance definitely check it out!
