Delhi Couture Week showcased some great as well as blah fashion. The highlight for me was finale designer Sabyasachi who did what he does best – get people’s jaws dropping.
Looking through pictures of this Sabyasachi collection ‘New Moon’, you do get a sense of deja-vu owing to his choice of accessories – the rimmed spectacles and headbands. But you’re willing to get past that seeing his beautiful clothes.
The line had a mix of Indian as well as Western silhouettes which featured paillettes, velvet and lace and extensive use of thread work.
I love the styling of the show. Who knew you could pair midi-length skirts with heavily embellished blouses? It strikes the perfect balance between Indian and Western wear.
As I mentioned before Sridevi walked the ramp because of a very special connection. He has styled her look for her comeback film English Vinglish.
I just love his collection this time around. Everything was well made and celebrated the best of what India has to offer in terms of fabrics, textiles and embroidery. Bravo Sabyasachi! Do you love the collection as much as I do?
