Ranbir Kapoor to Sing “Jumma Chumma De De!” to Deepika Padukone

Back in the 80’s and early 90’s Kimi Katkar was a leading oomph actress and was considered an item-girl par excellence at the time. She starred along with Amitabh Bachchan in a film called Hum (1991) by Mukul Anand and wearing a red flameco dress, she went on to perform the most popular Bollywood anthem that year – Jumma Chumma De De.

Now, it emerges that Karan Johar and director Ayaan Mukherjee have bought the rights for the song from Saregama and will be including it in Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani where Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will be dancing to it’s tune. In fact, while the original was sung by Sudesh Bhosle (and not Amitabh Bachchan), this time Ranbir will sing it himself!

Let’s hope he has Mr. Bachchan’s baritone, too!
