So get this, soon after Shah Rukh Khan tweeted (and Ranjit posted this blog) about that long lost Farex baby, I get a text from my high-school buddy Sushil Kapur saying, “you’re looking for the Farex baby? You serious?” Cut to a revelation that he in fact was one such Farex baby himself back in 1978, with cutie pie pictures to prove it! How did this never come up Sush?! *Lol*
He also revealed that as the Farex baby he refused to eat Farex so they had to put Cerelac in the Farex box for his shoot *mwahahaha*
Now… Sushil is in the Merchant Navy (and a pool shark!) He mentioned there were others (including Aftab Shivdasani) and all of a sudden, I found so many more!
Amruta who works with team MissMalini piped in with the fact that her brother was a Farex baby when he was 9/10 months!
Now… he is an Endodontist and Implantologist (Dental Surgeon) practicing in Santacruz East, Kalina.
Another friend of her’s Kunal Mehta was in two ads as a kid…
Now he’s an Interior Designer and Architect! He owns a company called ETHIQUE.
I even met the little darling from Mr. India all growns up when I worked at MTV back in 2003, her name is Huzaan Khodaiji and she’s got the same sweet face and blushes when someone brings this up 🙂
Oooh and remember the Nirma girl? The brand was derived from her name, Nirupama and she was the owners daughter. She died sadly in a car accident but remains an iconic image in Indian advertising history books to this day.
