And so, last night in Mumbai by the breezy sea-side, the who’s-who of Bollywood turned up to party in their dressed-down best with ace photographer Atul Kasbekar. From actress Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya and Arshad Warsi to Rocky S, the venue – Vie Lounge & Deck – was choc-a-bloc with famous faces, enjoying the balmy October evening. Atul had thrown the party for the footwear brand Converse and Skechers.
Film maker Nagesh Kukunoor was there early, along with producer Elahe Hiptoola and the duo enjoyed chatting about their latest film, Mod, starring Ayesha Takia and Ranvijay Singh. Rock On‘s Abhishek Kapoor hung out with Arshad Warsi and Nikhil Advani while Ken Ghosh chatted with actor Jackky Bhagnani and his pals in corner near the bar.
Designer Rocky S hung out with ex Miss India Manasvi Mamgai and fellow-designer Vikram Phadnis joined them later at the bar. Even designer Neeta Lulla made an appearance at almost 1am, when we were leaving.
In terms of the fashion stakes, the invitation said to keep it casual. And So, we noticed a number of the guys present opted to wear checked shirts (Arshad Warsi, Nikhil Adavani) while a few like Angad Bedi and Sahil Shroff wore theirs with a few buttons open to show off their toned chests.
But among the ladies, it was actress Poorna Jagannathan of Delhi Belly fame who caught our attention in a fabulous pair of retro bell-bottom pants. Designed by someone called Divya, we love the shocking pink colour with floral embroidery on the bottom half.
The other well-dressed lady was singer Anushka Manchanda. She says she tried to “Dress down” in keeping with the theme of the evening but we found her looking drop-dead-gorgeous. Actor Milind Soman also cut a handsome figure in a tee and jeans – simple, yet stylish!
Among the other well-known faces spotted at this chilled-out party were actor Ashwin Mushran and his stunning wife Rebecca, young actor Satyajeet Dubey (from Roshan Abbas’s film Always Kabhi Kabhi), Gulshan Devaiya (from the film Shaitan) and TV host Pravesh Rana.
