Live music events in Mumbai used to be few and far between but ever since Blue Frog gave musicians center stage it appears the rest of the city is following suit! The vocal groove project from Austria called Bauchklang returned for a three-night run (which ran so packed they had to close entry at 11pm every night to keep the club from turning into an unruly mosh pit.) In fact Blue Frog stayed open till 3am all weekend much to everyone’s delight.
Shankar Mahadevan paid homage to 26/11 victims with a concert called “Melodious Harmonies” where he started with ghazals but quickly moved on to his Bollywood repertoire much to everyone’s delight. Vishal Dadlani also had a concert with Pentagram last Thursday at Hard Rock Cafe. It’s pretty amazing how he manages to pull of hard core Bollywood composer/rockstar at the same time. Can you believe the same guy who’s sung and composed music for Bollywood movies like Dostana, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Om Shanti Om, Bluffmaster, Golmaal, Cash etc. can also do this?
